Mawuena Kattah – Patterns of People programme

Mawuena Kattah New Ceramic Works

Mawuena Kattah has completed a large scale, hand painted ceramic tile frieze working at the V&A ceramics studios. She will exhibit a new body of work at Tenderbooks in the summer of 2016, including a series of painted ceramic vases, printed fabrics, limited edition prints and works on paper. The ceramic tile frieze marries imagery Kattah has drawn from photographs of family and African batik fabrics gathered in Brixton Market.  Continue reading “Mawuena Kattah – Patterns of People programme”

Artist commission by Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

Ntiense Eno Amooquaye is currently working on a new commission for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as part of their Artists Commissions Programme. Amooquaye’s artwork will be installed in their new A&E wing alongside a number of high profile commissioned artists. The final work includes a new poem made for the hospital. Kensington Gardens features heavily in the poem with references to Laburnum trees, Lupins, Tulips and Thrushes. Over the coming months, Amooquaye will integrate text with a wide variety of new imagery in a final large scale artwork. The work will be completed in Spring 2016.

Inclusive Heritage – Heritage Lottery Fund

We were delighted to be invited by Heritage Lottery Fund to contribute towards their Inclusive Heritage ‘call to action’ as part of a conference held at Tate Modern in October. Clifton Wright, Mawuena Kattah and Andre Williams shared their practice in a commissioned film made at the Foundling Museum.
