Fashion collection by Intoart artists in collaboration with designers Holly Fulton and James Lambert from the womenswear label ‘Holly Fulton’.
The work culminated in two major museum displays. In 2016, the ten metre lengths of silk, cotton and upholstery fabrics were exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum 20th Century Design gallery in a bespoke display designed by Simon Jones Studio. For London Design Festival 2017, the fully realised garments and objects were exhibited in the V&A Fashion Galleries.
Each artist developed a repeat print design, digitally printed in lengths of cotton or silk and applied to a bespoke designed garment or object of their choice. The V&A Clothmakers Fashion and Textile archive provided in-depth engagement with the artists’ chosen archive items to explore pattern and design. Including a range of influences including; Graham Sutherland, Peggy Angus, Paolozzi textiles, Hull Traders, Celia Birtwell/Ossie Clark and Warner textiles, tapestries, 17th Century French furnishing fabrics and contemporary British designers.
