Ntiense Eno Amooquaye’s commission for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as part of the CW+ visual arts programme is now installed alongside other commissioned artists, including Brian Eno, Isaac Julien and Richard Woods.
In response to the commission Ntiense created a new large scale work on paper, incorporating drawings of the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park and new poetry developed from extensive reading at the National Poetry Library.
‘The poem is about inside and outside, the weather, the colours of flowers and plants. I wanted to take people on a journey through gardens.’ Ntiense Eno Amooquaye
The artwork is now displayed on level one just around the corner from the most valuable works in the collection by Veronese and opposite the longest work in the collection by Bert Irvin.
