Ntiense Eno-Amooquaye

About

Ntiense Eno-Amooquaye received the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists in 2022. She creates stage sets and garments to perform her writing. Her exhibition at White Columns, New York (2022) incorporated a new series of silk hangings ‘African Bird Dynasty’ made as part of a new film set in development and her most recent performance film ‘Art Deco Zebra Crossing’ which was developed and first exhibited at Flat Time House (2021), archive and artist’s residency space in the former home and studio of John Latham (1921—2006). The performance explores the intersections of writing, scenography and performance within the domestic setting of Flat Time House and in conversation with the John Latham archive. For 1000 Patterns at Texture Museum Kortrijk, Belgium (2017) Eno-Amooquaye developed hand screen printed works on linen and printed silk garments from poems referencing themes from the history of fashion and textile shown alongside works by an international group of artists including Louise Bourgeois, Kimsooja, Emmanuella Flandre and Morton Feldman.
